Poem #3: Bloodpower

Don’t worry, they said. For I’ll be doing something amazing for science.

Relax, they said. This won’t hurt at all.

My blood, they said, is of a rare chemical makeup.

Perfect, they said, for harnessing electricity.

Lie down, they said, on the comfy white rectangular bed.

Close your eyes, they said. And I did.

This is marvelous, they said.

My blood, they said, was powering up an alarm clock.

More, we need more, they said. For this is a scientific revolution.

Wait, no, I said. They were just to take a little of it.

Relax, they said. We won’t take all of it.

Close your eyes again, they said. And I did.

Do it, they said. And they did.

Don’t worry, they said. For I’ll be doing something amazing for science.
