Filipinos have a particular fondness for delicious food. Oftentimes we yearn to visit places where chill, fresh good food and wholesome fun are all rolled into one.

Make no mistake about it, Nanka Japanese and Latin fusion is not a music genre! But that’s what makes it so interesting and a little bit intriguing.

Jaykie Penaflor, the restaurant owner whose family hails from Pampanga, takes pride in offering quality ingredients, great atmosphere (perfect for any occasion may it be for a family eat out affair) or business meet ups.

Nanka presents to food lovers its unique dishes by serving a magical combination of the two cultures. Located along 1810 Mother Ignacia Avenue corner Roces Avenue, Quezon City,  the resto is easy to spot.

It has a restaurant signage prominently sited at the façade, to attract all sorts of costumers from business executives, millenials and Filipino foodies, capturing virtually anyone inquisitive to try out something new.

Quezon City residents and nearby office workers enjoyed the food immensely. During Sundays, it is a lunch and dinner place for family too. Inside, the feel is chill and so unintimidating.

The place may appear as fine dining to some, but also perfect to every casual dining crowd. It’s where food lovers can come back to again and again with their families and friends.

The food are all generously portioned, almost all their dishes are served in large helping, with this everyone gets to share the food so they can taste the different dishes that they ordered.

Start with Tuna Sashimi (PhP325) a slice of fresh tuna with soy, sesame, lemon, scallions with an onion salad, followed by Shitake Pasta (PhP295), Steak Fried Rice (PhP425), Tenderloin (PhP435), and their 450 grams Angus Prime Ribs Eye (PhP1700) served with truffle teriyaki sauce and grilled vegetables. Top it all with Miso Custard), a creamy white chocolate custard with white miso and butter cookies.
