As the country is recovering from the pandemic, organizations involved in the promotion and preservation of culture are gearing up for a more productive year.
One of these entities is the Bayanihan, the National Folk Dance Company of the Philippines.
This year, Bayanihan has scheduled three major events namely: Sayaw Summer Workshop; a season production; and Fiesta Folkloriada.
Sayaw Summer Workshop will have two batches: Batch 1 that will run from May 11 to June 3, 2023; and Batch 2, from July 10 to July 22, 2023.
Participants to the workshop will learn the dances, songs, and music of the Bayanihan.
The workshop will have a culminating show at the historic Metropolitan Theater in Manila.
Meanwhile, Fiesta Folkoriada which will be held from Dec. 4-9, 2023 is now on its 17th year.
It is a festival that gathers dance companies from different countries to
bring culture and education through music and dance.
A project of the Bayanihan Folk Arts Foundation, it is Bayanihan’s contribution to strengthen peace and respect for other nations’ customs and traditions.
