ULAP taps UN acclaimed scientist for nationwide Net Zero Emissions agenda

The Union Leagues of Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP) has just approved the partnership with internationally-acclaimed science diplomat Glenn Banaguas in bringing climate change preparedness and net zero emissions (NZE) on a national scale through the Climate Smart Philippines program.

Under the stewardship of Banaguas, Climate Smart Philippines aims to help ULAP members avoid the worst impacts of climate change by committing to achieving net zero emissions (NZE) over the next few decades.

Banaguas will share Climate Smart Philippines’ knowledge and experience with local governments and people on the ground, facilitated by ULAP’s wide-reaching membership.

By establishing mutually-reinforcing community-to-community learning networks and partnerships via ULAP, Climate Smart Philippines hopes to pave the way for greener and more resilient communities in the years to come.

“I am deeply indebted to President Cua for his faith and trust in me and my advocacy,” said Banaguas.

“More than anything else, I am also thankful for ULAP’s help in enabling more of our countrymen to adopt a climate smart agenda.”

“I pray that our collaboration will inspire our people to transform their ideas into actions for better purposes, bringing them gratification as they meet the needs of others. I am immensely thankful for ULAP’s leadership… for this partnership. ..May God bless us all,” Banaguas added.

“We look forward to working closely with Glenn in the years and decades to come,” said ULAP President and Quirino Gov. Dakila “Dax” Cua. We hope this partnership brings a greater sense of security and preparedness to our communities.”

Earlier, Cua had likewise commissioned Banaguas to help towards making Quirino Province the country’s first leader in Net Zero Emissions in just a few short years.
