Security Bank and Kythe Foundation celebrate cancer survivors

Security Bank and Kythe Foundation marked the culmination of its partnership at the Kythe’s Partner Recognition Program with a pizza-making and story-sharing activity for cancer survivors on Oct. 14, 2023 at the Security Bank Chino Roces Branch.

This is in light of the agreement signed last year which aimed to improve education, health and wellness, enterprise and livelihood development, community-building, and promote employee involvement through various charity initiatives.

The partnership has led to two campaigns aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) 3 and 4: Ensure Good health and Well-being as well as Quality education.

“Security Bank and Kythe Foundation are moved by the same goal – one that involves enriching lives through purposeful giving and intentional service. Inspired by this, we finalized an agreement last year that drove both organizations to collaborate on awareness and education programs through the Adopt-a-Scholar and Food for the Kids,” said Teresa Alcantara, Branch Manager of Chino Roces branch. “We sincerely hope these worthwhile initiatives enabled continuous education, care, and assistance to 14 cancer survivors and more than 70 families.”

One of the programs is Adopt-a-Scholar, a monthly monetary assistance program, intended to assist cancer survivors catch up with schooling because of their health condition.

Cancer survivor students are given PHP58,000 covering tuition, books, laptop or desktop for online classes, internet connection load, and other educational-related expenses.

Food for the Kids is another campaign patterned after the Government’s 4P’s “Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program” which provides financial aid to families with children diagnosed with cancer and chronic illnesses seeking treatment in affiliate hospitals.

In line with its sustainability goals stemming from its BetterBanking promise, Security Bank believes that it is able to achieve corporate success by promoting positive social change and social good in the communities it operates in.
