Rotary Club Mandaluyong Uptown, along with several other District 3800 Rotary Clubs, proudly announces a collaborative effort with Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach in Empowering Girls’ Day and Book Signing Event aimed at supporting the livelihood training of Mary of Christians – Calapan, specifically targeting the empowerment of fisherfolk’s wives, Out-of-School Youth (OSY), and the Mangyan community.
The event will take place at Greenhills Mall on December 01, 2023, 1PM.
This noble initiative also brings female community leaders and known personalities like philanthropist Dr. Mildred V. Vitangcol, DOT Region 12 Director King Arina, Atty. Nikki de Vega and First Filipina Chess Grand Master Janelle Mae Frayna to shed light on Rotary International’s key area of focus this year: Empowering Girls.
Mary Of Christians – Calapan, a Salesian Sister school committed to uplifting the lives of marginalized communities, will benefit from the proceeds of the Book Signing event. The funds raised will directly contribute to the livelihood training providing the beneficiaries with essential skills and opportunities for sustainable growth.
Pia Wurtzbach, a well-respected advocate for various charitable causes, expressed her enthusiasm for being part of this project. “Empowering girls and supporting communities in need have always been close to my heart. I am honored to join hands with RC Mandaluyong Uptown and other District 3800 Rotary Clubs in this meaningful endeavor,” said Wurtzbach.
