During his visit, Ambassador Endo was given a tour of the campus and received a brief overview of the programs and class offerings. He also lauded NCF’s efforts and its active role in promoting language and cultural exchange between Japan and the Philippines.

On the other hand, Francis C. Laurel, Chairman of the Nihongo Center Foundation (NCF), expressed his gratitude for the Embassy of Japan’s steadfast support to the organization and looked forward to a stronger partnership between the two institutions.

The Nihongo Center Foundation was founded by the Philippines-Japan Friendship Foundation (PJFF), a non-profit organization promoting friendship between Filipinos and Japanese. It succeeded the Nihongo Gakko (Japanese Language School) of the Embassy of Japan’s Japan Information and Cultural Center (JICC), whose operations were then transferred to PJFF in 1997.

To date, the Nihongo Center Foundation (NCF) has played a major role in promoting Japanese language learning in the Philippines. It offers a comprehensive curriculum catering to beginner, intermediate, and advanced learners. NCF further supports its mission by providing scholarships to deserving students.
