In recognition of its invaluable support to the Learners’ Convergence Philippines (LearnCon PH), the Department of Education (DepEd) awarded a Plaque of Appreciation to Fortune Life Insurance Company, Inc. at the Crown Regency Suites Mactan in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu on July 10, 2024.
Representing Fortune Life, Regional Sales Assistant Manager (RSAM) for VisMin Gerald Roland Casia was honored to receive the award from Director Margarita Consolacion Ballesteros, DepEd External Partnerships Service (EPS) and Assistant Secretary for Operations Dexter Galban, together with other DepEd representatives.
LearnCon PH Opening Ceremony
Demonstrating its commitment to youth values formation, Fortune Life joined the Opening Ceremony of LearnCon PH led by Vice President and former Education Secretary Sara Duterte on July 9 at Hoops Dome, Lapu-Lapu City.
LearnCon PH is held annually by DepEd, as a significant platform for students and youth leaders to engage with education stakeholders, fostering in-depth discussions on youth and community development.
RSAM Casia delivered an inspiring and insightful financial literacy talk to the participants, who also enjoyed receiving a variety of corporate giveaways and big books at the Fortune Life booth.
Palarong Pambansa
Simultaneous with LearnCon PH is the series of activities for the Palarong Pambansa. At the Palarong Pambansa Sponsorship Turnover Ceremony, Fortune Life donated corporate items at the City Central Elementary School in Del Rosario, Cebu on July 8.
Present in the turnover ceremony were DepEd Assistant Secretary for Field Operations, Francis Cesar Bringas and Cebu City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Nimfa Bongo, CESO V.
On July 9, the 2024 Palarong Pambansa was officially opened by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. at the Cebu City Sports Center. Participants from various regions of the country competed in a series of games from July 10 to 15, 2024. The closing ceremony was held on July 16.
