The Bayanihan Folk Arts Foundation in collaboration with the Cultural Center of the Philippines will stage its season production title Unbound Folklore on August 16, 8pm and August 17, 3pm and 8pm at The Metropolitan Theater, Manila.
Unbound Folklore celebrates 68 years of Bayanihan’s vibrant journey through the rich tapestry of traditional dances and innovative artistry. It celebrates the timeless traditions, stories and dances that have been passed down through generations, anchoring us to our roots amidst a changing world. Unbound Folklore features powerful performances and themes on empowerment and community, telling the story of strength and resilience while celebrating unity and joy through the captivating festival of dances.
Performances will be by Bayanihan, the National Folkdance Company of the Philippines, a multi-awarded dance company established in 1957. It has mounted many tours worldwide and won grand prizes in World Dance competitions.
Bayanihan continues to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation, ensuring that our traditions continue to thrive and inspire the future generation.
