SNAP makes Asset Management Excellence Awards finals in London

SN Aboitiz Power-Magat’s (SNAP-Magat) plant manager and assistant vice president Daryl Homer Ramos was named one of the top 3 finalists in the NxtGen Award Category of the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) Asset Management Excellence Awards 2024. The awarding ceremony was held on June 18, 2025 at the IAM Global Conference 2025 in London, bringing together industry leaders and innovators from around the world.

The NxtGen Award recognizes individuals newer to asset management who have made outstanding contributions to the implementation and development of asset management in their organizations. Ramos, the sole finalist from the Philippines, is currently Officer-in-Charge for Performance, Reliability, and Asset Management (PRAM), concurrent to his role as assistant vice president and plant manager. With SNAP continually working on growth and expansion, he plays a vital role in the technical reviews and financial assessments of new projects. He leads a team of engineers, maintenance personnel, analysts, and other specialists responsible for various aspects of SNAP’s asset management program.

In a statement of gratitude, Homer shared, “It’s an honor and privilege to be a finalist, given that the IAM is the premier organization leading private and public companies in asset management maturity and implementation worldwide. Thank you to SNAP for the opportunity to represent the company on the global stage, and especially to the SNAP-Magat and PRAM teams for the continued teamwork and excellence. You make working multiple roles possible.”

SNAP has a robust portfolio of renewable energy assets; it owns and operates the 112.5-MW Ambuklao and 140-MW Binga hydroelectric power plants in Benguet; the Magat hydroelectric power plant which has a nameplate capacity of 360 MW and maximum capacity of 388 MW on the border of Isabela and Ifugao; the 8.5-MW Maris hydro; and the 24-MW Magat battery energy storage facility in Isabela.

SNAP Chief Operations Officer Mike Hosillos stated, “As a renewable energy operator and developer, we recognize the importance of proper asset management and building the competence of our asset management teams. Effective asset management is not just best practice — it’s a cornerstone of our capability to deliver reliable, efficient, and sustainable energy solutions. Through globally-recognized asset management practices, we build trust with our stakeholders, drive long-term value, and contribute to a brighter energy future.”

Meanwhile, the Institute of Asset Management was established in 1994 and is the international professional body for asset management professionals. It develops asset management knowledge, recognizes best practices across industries, and generates awareness of the benefits of the asset management discipline for individuals, organizations, and wider society.

This achievement not only showcases SNAP’s excellence, but also serves as a springboard for further innovation and advancement in asset management industry-wide.
