Slim Side-Discharge Design Fits into Tight Outdoor Spaces
When working with limited outdoor space, Hitachi SideSmart™ helps you install cooling systems without compromise. The modular, side-discharge units are just 42cm slim, making them ideal for tight locations such as narrow alleyways, outdoor ledges, or tucked-away utility areas. On balcony areas, SideSmart™ blows air out the front to significantly reduce the risk of air short circuits.
Each unit is compact enough to fit into an elevator, so there’s no need for crane lifting. From multi-office spaces to mixed-use buildings, Hitachi SideSmart™ delivers modular capacity scaling from 8 HP to 72 HP. This allows up to four outdoor units to be combined for greater output. With a piping reach of up to 500 meters, engineers can position units flexibly across multiple wings and areas without needing to alter the main building layout.

Hitachi’s Set Free Outdoor Series is a traditional Top Blow VRF that can combine up to 4 modular units. This maintains robust performance and is more efficient due to modern VRF technology.
