PHLPost swiftly deploys mail trucks to deliver DSWD humanitarian assistance

In line with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s call to aid disaster recovery efforts following the onslaught of heavy rainfall caused by the southwest monsoon (habagat), the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has dispatched two (2) ten wheeler trucks to pick-up 3,400 food packs at the DSWD warehouse in Metro Manila bound for distribution to affected areas in Guigunto, Bulacan.

Present during the hauling at DSWD are Postmaster General & CEO Maxi Sta. Maria, Assistant Postmaster General for Operations Atty. Benjie Yotoko, Director IV, Area Operations Gilbert Javier and Express Mail Manager Boyet Delito.

Newly appointed Acting Postmaster General and CEO Maximo Sta. Maria III said that PHLPost has been in constant communication with the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Operations Center, and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for dispatch of additional vehicles in case the OCD and DSWD needs it.

Logistics are crucial in relief operations, acting as the backbone for delivering aid to disaster-affected communities.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) assures the public that essential postal operations remain ongoing despite the suspension of work in several areas.

PMG Sta Maria directed all Area Directors nationwide, especially those in the affected areas to provide a comprehensive situational report on the damages caused by Typhoon Dante.
