PHLPost released special stamps in honor of Pope Leo XIV

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has released a special commemorative stamp honoring His Holiness Pope Leo XIV (Robert Francis Prevost), marking his historic election as the 268th Supreme Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church.

As a predominantly Catholic nation, the Philippines joins the global Catholic community in prayer and celebration, cherishing this significant moment in Church history. This stamp issue pays tribute to Pope Leo XIV’s deep spiritual leadership and his commitment to compassion, inclusivity, and global unity, values that deeply resonate with the Filipino people.

Pope Leo XIV shares a special connection with the Philippines, having served as a missionary in Cebu and other parts of the country. Through this commemorative release, PHLPost reaffirms its mission to preserve history, culture, and faith through philately, the art of stamp collecting.

The stamp designs feature portraits of the Pope alongside symbols of his papacy. Pope-themed stamps remain highly sought after by collectors worldwide for their historical value, limited availability, and artistic detail, particularly those linked to significant papal events. Many collectors treasure these stamps for the personal connection they evoke with the Holy Father.

PHLPost has printed 10,000 copies of the commemorative stamp, priced at ₱17 each. A matching First Day Cover is also available. These can be purchased at the Postshop, Manila Central Post Office Compound, Annex I Building, Liwasang Bonifacio, Manila.
