The Austrian Embassy in Manila, together with the Embassy of Sweden in Manila, the Embassy of Finland in Manila, and in partnership with the Out of the Box Media Literacy Initiative (OOTB), proudly co-hosted the panel discussion “MIL 2.0: Preparing the Philippine Curriculum for the AI Era” during the Philippine Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Summit 2025 held on 8 November 2025 at the Gimenez Gallery, University of the Philippines – Diliman.

Representing Austria, Ms. Mariatheres van Veen of Safer Internet Austria shared best practices in promoting digital literacy, online safety, and responsible AI use, underscoring how European experiences can help shape the Philippines’ approach to media and information literacy in the age of AI.

The session also featured a keynote address by H.E. Saija Nurminen, Ambassador of Finland to the Philippines, and a panel discussion with Mr. Danilo Dovgoborets of the Embassy of Sweden, and Dr. Ebenezer Beloy from the Department of Education.

A big thanks to all the students and teachers who attended and joined the summit. We truly enjoyed engaging with you and celebrating our shared commitment to media and information literacy!
