The Nationwide SM Bowling Tournament rolls to the championship at SM Game Park

The SM Bowling Tournament Grand Finals, held at the SM Game Park in SM Mall of Asia, marked the culmination of a month-long nationwide series of tournaments. Organized to promote camaraderie and healthy competition among both newcomers to the sports and long-time enthusiasts, the event concluded with great fun and excitement.

Bowling continues to grow steadily both as a sport and a social pastime, with every frame, strike, and spare adding to the fun and excitement. The SM Bowling Tournament, one of the largest bowling tournaments in the country, showcased how bowling continues to hold its ground in the sporting and recreational arenas. The event also highlighted SM Game Park’s world-class facilities for sports, fitness, and recreation, featuring modern bowling lanes, digital scoring, a comfortable environment designed for both serious play and casual enjoyment, and more.

The SM Bowling Tournament Grand Finals tallied to  22 competing teams from all over the country who made it through the semi-finals took to the lanes, while their families and friends joined in the excitement, and spectators and fans cheered on. The culminating tournament rolled into a full day of fun, bonding, and entertainment for everyone – players, fans, friends and families alike. 

The Grand Finals brought together the undeniable kingpins on the lanes to compete for the prestigious Champions of the Lanestitle and huge cash prizes. After weeks of qualifying rounds held from September 15 to October 14 across all SM Game Park and SM Bowling branches nationwide, the top three teams from each of the 11 branches competed in the semi-finals for a coveted slot in the grand finals. Showcasing skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship in the country’s premier sports setting, the best of the best hit the lanes and bowled their way toward the top three spots and a generous pool of cash prizes.

Team Henrich, composed of Alex Ngoi Jr., Sammy Say Sy, Angel Tolentino Jr. and Nathan Matthew Barredo of SM Game Park Mall of Asia, grabbed the coveted Champions of the LanesBowling Champions award, earning a well-deserved victory and taking home Php 80,000. Team Avengers from SM Bowling City Cebu secured the Champions of the Lanes – 2nd place spot and Php 40,000, while Team D’Rapapap-MCBA of SM Game Park CDO Downtown followed closely as Champions of the Lanes – 3rd placer, bringing home Php 20,000.

SM Bowling has been at the forefront of keeping the timeless sport of bowling alive since its establishment in 1989 at the Annex 2 of SM North EDSA, during the mall’s expansion. Today, SM Bowling continues to upgrade and modernize its facilities, and at the same time, continues to develop engaging activities for the enjoyment of serious athletes and communities nationwide. In recent years, SM Game Park was also built to boost interest in bowling and other sports, providing state-of-the-art facilities for the ultimate experience.

SM Game Park are located at SM Mall of Asia, SM Southmall, SM City Santa Rosa, SM City Fairview, SM CDO Downtown, SM East Ortigas, SM City Manila, SM Center Tuguegarao, and SM Megacenter Cabanatuan while SM Bowling Centers are located at SM Megamall, SM North EDSA, SM City Clark, SM Seaside City Cebu, SM City Cebu, and SM Lanang.
