RELX | Reed Elsevier Champions a Culture of Care: Celebrating Purpose, Community, and Recognition

RELX | Reed Elsevier demonstrates commitment to meaningful community involvement, empowerment, and social responsibility while earning prestigious employer awards

RELX | Reed Elsevier continues to strengthen its culture of care and meaningful community involvement, empowering employees to make meaningful contributions to their communities while fostering an inclusive, socially responsible workplace. The company’s commitment to these values has earned recognition as a leading employer and service excellence organization in the Philippines.

Caring in Action: RELX Cares Month in the Philippines

At the heart of RELX | Reed Elsevier’s culture is a simple belief: giving back matters. Each year during RELX Cares Month in September, employees come together to champion initiatives that span multiple sectors, such as organizing community events like fun runs and hands-on volunteering efforts. Additionally, every employee can dedicate two days per year to volunteer for causes close to their hearts.

In 2024, volunteers raised funds and assisted key beneficiaries such as Kapatid Kita Mahal Kita (KKMK) Foundation scholars and Friends of Cancer Kids Iloilo Foundation Inc., as well as other organizations through RELX Cares.

“It’s meaningful to know that beyond our regular paid leave, we have dedicated time we can use to help others and give back to our community. Being able to volunteer made me realize that collectively, we can have a hand in enacting effective change, and that even the tiniest effort can change so many lives,” shared Dee Cafe, who spearheads the company’s RELX Cares program in the Philippines.

Valuing What Matters: A Culture Rooted in Purpose

RELX | Reed Elsevier believes that caring for humanity starts with caring for your own employees. The company prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering employee engagement through resource groups, interest clubs, and a total rewards package that takes care of physical, psychological, and economic well-being.

Beyond workplace benefits, RELX | Reed Elsevier fosters a culture of servant leadership where leaders lead by example. This creates a safe space where employees can speak up, be heard, and thrive. Through open-door policies, regular town halls, leadership trainings, mentoring programs, and a culture of promoting from within, RELX | Reed Elsevier demonstrates its commitment to listening to and acting on employee feedback while remaining flexible and adaptable to change.
