There’s nothing like the Holidays at the City of Firsts
The Holidays have arrived, and Araneta City is shining brighter than ever! This year, the City of Firsts transforms into a dazzling wonderland with its Yuletide theme Christmas Glows in the City: Built by Memories, Lit by Hope.
“Christmas at Araneta City is more than just lights and decorations. It’s about creating moments that last a lifetime,” said Marjorie Go, Vice President for Marketing of Araneta City. “Our theme reflects what the City of Firsts stands for: a place where families and friends come together to celebrate, and where every joyful memory inspires hope for the future.”
A City Sparkling with Holiday Magic
The festivities at Araneta City kicked off with the much-awaited lighting of the Giant Christmas Tree on November 6. Thousands gathered to witness the City of Firsts’ most iconic holiday symbol burst into life with a spectacular display of lights, music, and fireworks. The night was made even more magical by performances from Vice Ganda, Joshua Garcia, BGYO, Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition housemates, and other special guests who brought holiday cheer to everyone in attendance.
The celebration didn’t stop there as mall Christmas trees have also been lighted. Gateway Mall 1 and 2 held their own tree lighting ceremonies on November 7, followed by Farmers Plaza on November 8, and Ali Mall on November 9. Each event had its own festive flair—from P-Pop performances and choir serenades to the radiant presence of Binibining Pilipinas queens, spreading joy across the City of Firsts. Even tower offices joined in the festivities by adorning their lobby areas with beautifully decorated Christmas trees and sparkling lights.
Adding to the holiday spirit, Araneta City unveiled its life-sized Belen display on November 14 as a heartfelt tribute to the true reason for the season. The event featured choir performances, a community mass, and a breathtaking fireworks show that lit up the night sky.
Classics Return, Other Festivities Await
Looking for family fun? The timeless favorite Fiesta Carnival is open to give kids (and kids at heart) a day filled with rides, games, and attractions. Parents can relive their childhood memories while creating new ones with their little ones.
Another beloved tradition making its comeback is Parolan, which opened last October 16 and runs until year-end at Farmers Garden from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Here, shoppers can find everything they need to deck their homes in holiday cheer—from vibrant parols and garlands to twinkling lights and festive ornaments.
Weekends at Araneta City are even more magical with grand fireworks displays every Friday to Sunday at 7:00 PM until December 28 and on January 1, 2026. Enjoy the best view near the Giant Christmas Tree along Aguinaldo Avenue.
Plus, Santa Claus and other holiday characters will be spreading Christmas joy during the Santa and friends meet and greet every Sunday on December 7, 14, and 21, and from December 22 to 25. Catch them at Farmers Plaza and Gateway Mall 1 at 4:00 PM, then at Ali Mall and Gateway Mall 2’s Quantum Skyview at 5:30 PM.
“We are once again ready to share the magic of the season with everyone,” Go concluded. “From timeless traditions to exciting new attractions, every corner of the City of Firsts glows with joy and hope. This Christmas, Araneta City stands as a destination where memories are built and the spirit of hope shines bright.”
