Nickel Asia Celebrates Multiple Wins at 2025 PH-EITI National Conference

Four subsidiaries of listed natural resources development company Nickel Asia Corporation (NAC) were honored at the 2025 Philippine Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (PH-EITI) National Conference held on November 28, 2025 at Sequioa Hotel in Parañaque City.

Cagdianao Mining Corporation (CMC) and Hinatuan Mining Corporation (HMC) earned 2nd and 3rd Place, respectively, in the Excellence in Reporting Award – Metallic Mining Category for their clear, comprehensive, and timely submissions to the national transparency framework. Dinapigue Mining Corporation (DMC) and Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation (RTN) were likewise recognized as Top Reporting Entities, with RTN earning distinctions in both the Metallic and Non-Metallic mining categories.

“These recognitions affirm our long-standing commitment to openness, accountability, and responsible mining,” said NAC SVP for Sustainability, Risk, Corporate Affairs, and Communications and Chief Sustainability Officer Jose Bayani D. Baylon.

“Transparency is fundamental to building trust with our host communities, government partners, and the public. We are immensely proud of our operating companies for consistently setting the standard,” Baylon added.

EITI is a global transparency standard that requires extractive companies – such as those in mining, oil, and gas – to disclose the payments made to the government, while likewise requiring government to report the revenues it receives. The initiative promotes greater openness and accountability in how countries manage and report the benefits derived from natural resources.

PH-EITI, aligned with global EITI standards, aims to strengthen natural resource governance through accurate reporting of revenues, payments, and other critical data from extractive industries. NAC’s continued success in the initiative underscores its leadership in ethical practices and sustainable development in the Philippine mining sector.

In her closing remarks, PH-EITI National Coordinator Mary Ann Rodolfo said, “We share one vision, a natural resource sector that benefits the Filipino people, protects the environment, and upholds the rights of communities.”
