Ambassador Lhuillier’s journey of service inspires Museo P. Lhuillier opening

Antipolo, Philippines — A new cultural and spiritual landmark opens its doors as Museo P. Lhuillier welcomes the Filipino public into a thoughtfully curated home for art, devotion and heritage.  Located at the heart of Antipolo, the museum showcases a collection shaped by Ambassador Philippe J. Lhuillier’s decades of diplomatic service, featuring religious artifacts, European antiques, and culturally significant memorabilia.

Designed as a diplomatic legacy that celebrates religious and cultural heritage for the Filipino community, Museo P. Lhuillier was founded on the belief that heritage becomes more meaningful when shared. The museum invites visitors into a serene environment that encourages reflection, learning and deeper appreciation of traditions that have shaped both the Ambassador’s life and the country’s cultural narrative. With accessibility and education at its core, it enriches Antipolo’s growing identity as a destination for arts, faith and heritage.

“Many of these pieces have been carefully kept for years, ”Ambassador Lhuillier shared during the opening. “It has long been my hope to make these pieces accessible to the Filipino public. My hope is that Museo P. Lhuillier becomes a place of reflection and discovery, where visitors can connect with stories of faith, heritage and global tradition.”

Ambassador Lhuillier’s 17-year journey has long been rooted in service to communities in the Philippines and to Filipinos around the world. Before entering public life, he helped expand access to micro financial services for everyday Filipinos through Cebuana Lhuillier, a commitment to upliftment that later evolved into wider philanthropic, cultural and community initiatives.

“Throughout his diplomatic career in Italy, Albania, San Marino, Portugal, and now Spain, my dad has championed the welfare of overseas Filipinos, strengthened bilateral relations, and elevated our culture abroad,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier, President and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier. “His dedication to service has always inspired me, and seeing his impact reflected in this museum is deeply meaningful.

“Growing up, we often saw how much these pieces meant to him,” said Camille Lhuillier- Albani, General Manager, Casa de Memoria. “Seeing them now shared with the public feels deeply special. This museum reflects not only his love for art and history, but his desire to give Filipinos a place for quiet reflection and connection.”

Museo P. Lhuillier reflects these values. Its galleries, spanning religious collections, European antiques and curated memorabilia, offer an experience that connects Philippine heritage with global influences. Many of the pieces were collected during his years of diplomatic service, forming a narrative that bridges cultures while remaining deeply anchored in Filipino identity.

The Kapilya de Santa Rosa de Lima serves as a quiet sanctuary for devotion and contemplation, while the APJL Hall highlights key milestones from the Ambassador’s diplomatic contributions. A rotating pop up gallery will introduce seasonal exhibitions, collaborations and programs designed to foster cultural engagement and dialogue.

Rooted in service, faith and stewardship, the museum’s atmosphere emphasizes reverence and reflection. Every element, from sacred artworks to historical furnishings, was curated to inspire meaningful connections and encourage visitors to explore the richness of shared heritage.

As it opens to the public, Museo P. Lhuillier positions itself as a space where Philippine heritage meets global perspectives. Through its exhibitions and community programming, the museum aims to spark conversations that connect past and present, deepen cultural appreciation and strengthen Antipolo’s place on the cultural map.
