Hong Kong invites the world to ring in the Year of the Horse with citywide celebrations

HONG KONG, January 20, 2026 – Just a short flight from the Philippines, Hong Kong welcomes the Year of the Horse with one of Asia’s most anticipated Chinese New Year celebrations, inviting Filipino travelers to experience a vibrant mix of tradition and spectacle.

On February 17, Tsim Sha Tsui comes alive for the Cathay International Chinese New Year Night Parade. Floats glow, drums thunder, and performers from around the world bring high-energy acts that mix tradition with modern flair. This year’s theme “BEST FORTUNE. WORLD PARTY,” imbibes the energetic spirit of the horse – a symbol of strength and success in Chinese culture.

Adding a familiar touch for Filipino travelers, Bacolod’s MassKara Festival dancers return for the second year, performing their joyful masks alongside international acts such as;  FierS à Cheval from France, Xi’an Acrobatic Troupe from Chinese Mainland, Les Vitaminés from Canada, Manly Seabirds from Australia, and Cromosauro from Italy. Their participation is a highlight for visitors from home and a reminder of the Philippines’ vibrant festival culture, even amid Hong Kong’s diverse parade lineup.
