via Graphic Plus | West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) received a Gold Anvil Award at the 2025 Anvil Awards, held at Solaire North in Quezon City, for its “Oro Inodoro” advocacy campaign, which promotes public restroom sanitation as a matter of dignity, public health, and responsible wastewater management.
Recognized under the PR Programs–Advocacy/Public Awareness/Cause-Related category, the program was designed to elevate public sanitation as a critical health and environmental issue.
As the campaign’s centerpiece, Maynilad launched the Oro Inodoro Awards,a nationwide initiative that recognized public restrooms demonstrating exemplary standards in cleanliness, accessibility, inclusivity, and wastewater best practices. Apart from design and environmental compliance, establishments were also evaluated based on inclusivity features such as facilities for persons with disabilities, diaper-changing stations, and gender-inclusive amenities.
The campaign was rolled out through Maynilad’s Kubeta PH social media platform, which invited Filipinos to nominate outstanding public restrooms across the country. In three months, the initiative generated 153 nominations, reflecting strong public engagement and growing awareness of sanitation as a shared social responsibility.
Awardees represented a wide range of sectors—including government offices, hotels and malls, transport hubs, schools and universities, and food establishments—with special citations conferred for inclusivity and people’s choice.
“This campaign encourages establishments to raise restroom standards and adopt responsible wastewater practices, ultimately contributing to cleaner and healthier communities,” said Maynilad Corporate Affairs and Communication Head Marie Antonette H. De Ocampo.
