via Graphic Plus | EMBASSY EXPRESS — On 12 February 2026 in Vienna, Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger welcomed Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro for a bilateral meeting marking the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Austria and the Philippines.
“What truly defines this anniversary are the people behind our partnership,” Minister Meinl-Reisinger shared during her exchange with members of the Filipino community in Austria. “The Filipino community is a prime example of successful integration. Their contribution, especially in the care sector is invaluable.”
As a gesture reflecting the close human and economic ties between Austria and the Philippines, Secretary Lazaro was also invited as Guest of Honor to the Vienna Opera Ball.
