via GRAPHIC PLUS — On 03 March 2026, Ambassador ENDO Kazuya paid a courtesy call on Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara to discuss challenges in the Philippine education sector and to reaffirm the strengthening of Japan-Philippines cooperation in addressing these issues.
During the meeting, Ambassador Endo and Secretary Angara exchanged views on the importance of Japanese language education in Philippine secondary education, the Japanese Government’s support for training Filipino teachers, as well as initiatives by Japanese-affiliated companies related to education.
Secretary Angara expressed his gratitude for the support of the Japanese Government and Japanese-affiliated companies in the Philippines. Further, both sides agreed to continue proactive cooperation moving forward.
