The company’s 26th sustainability report reveals Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emission reductions3 while delivering safe food to people worldwide
Manila, Philippines, 17 October 2025 – Tetra Pak has unveiled its full-year 2024 (FY24) Sustainability Report, highlighting a 25% reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its value chain since 2019, marking a further five-percentage-point improvement since 2023.
Within its own operations, the company has achieved a 54% reduction in GHG emissions since 2019 and reports 94% renewable energy consumption in its own operations, keeping the company on track to achieve net-zero GHG emissions in its own operations by 20304. Moreover, these environmental achievements go hand in hand with the company’s continuous efforts to improve livelihoods and strengthen economies through the delivery of safe food everywhere.

In the Philippines, Tetra Pak has been actively engaged in several local sustainability initiatives that focus on circular economy practices, community development, and environmental education. The company has been running its Cartons for Communities program to raise awareness on the sustainability benefits of using beverage cartons. The initiative partners with various stakeholders to raise awareness for food & beverage cartons as a recyclable while also ensuring a system of collection. Partners like Rural Industrial Corporation, Axelum Resources Corporation then transform the cartons into Poly Al boards and recycled chipboards and roofing sheets which can be repurposed into valuable items like furniture, housing, and school facilities. The programme has seen over 700 tonnes 5 of cartons collected in 2024, with an 80% year-on-year growth. In addition, Tetra Pak has expanded its outreach to LGUs nationwide, bringing new regions into the programme and strengthening its impact.

“At Tetra Pak Philippines, we remain deeply committed to helping protect food, reduce waste, and supporting communities. While we are proud of the progress we’ve made, we also recognise that there is still so much more to be done. No single organisation can solve these challenges alone, and lasting change will only be possible if we work together. We stand ready to collaborate – with partners, local governments, schools, and communities, and we invite everyone to join us on this journey toward building a stronger circular economy.” said Terrynz Tan, Sustainability Director, Tetra Pak ASEAN.
In the Philippines, where food security is a pressing concern and climate-related disruptions frequently affect supply chains, Tetra Pak’s aseptic carton packaging plays a vital role in ensuring safe and nutritious food reaches those who need it most. By extending the shelf life of milk, juices, and other essential products without requiring refrigeration, these cartons reduce food waste and enable distribution to remote and disaster-affected communities across the archipelago. This work is part of Tetra Pak Philippines’ broader sustainability strategy, which combines safe food access with initiatives like the Cartons for Communities programme to promote recycling, support local communities, and advance circular economy practices, reinforcing the company’s commitment to both environmental stewardship and social impact.

“Beyond providing shelf-stable nutrition to communities in far-flung areas, we’re working hand in hand with local governments, schools, and recyclers to strengthen collection and recycling systems on the ground. These collaborations are essential in building a truly circular economy and we thank our partners for being part of this journey with us,” said Catherine Chua, Sustainability Manager, Tetra Pak Philippines.
