Something Blu Bridal Fair Empowers At 9

Inspired by the traditional gemstone for a 9th wedding anniversary, lapis lazuli, this year’s exhibit embraced the stone’s qualities of harmony, truth, and devotion. Its rich blue hue served as a unifying element of style, creating a cohesive look among the exhibitors that seamlessly guided guests from the grand lobby to the main exhibit venue.

For nearly a decade, Something Blu has been Cebu’s most anticipated bridal fair, bringing together close to 100 of the city’s most sought-after and most trusted weddings and events suppliers.

This spans bridal fashion and couture, florists and event stylists, photographers and videographers, jewelers, lights and sounds providers, wedding gift and invitation artisans, and even medical aesthetic clinics, from Cebu’s plethora of talented and creative events suppliers. Couples who attended enjoyed exclusive packages and discounts crafted to help make their dream event or wedding a reality.

The highlight of the Something Blu bridal fair was the awarding of the “Dream Wedding on Us” raffle.

Patterned after the last couple of years’ programs, this grand raffle was opened to couples who booked any event during the fair. Winners received a dinner buffet reception for 100 guests at Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu, fine jewelry from Love & Diamonds, wedding photo coverage by Rock Paper Scissors Studios, couples’ gift sets from One Mist Fragrances, a bridal robe by Rei Escario, an Astoria wine bar from Charlton Trade, a two-tier wedding cake from Cake Tales by Jeah Baron, and a bridal bouquet by Work of Hans, among others. Love & Diamonds also gave away two additional sets of jewelry worth ₱25,000 each to a few lucky winners.

This year’s Something Blu also went beyond celebrating weddings. It also celebrated women. The fair showcased handcrafted items made by Deprived of Liberty (PDL), offered as meaningful gifts and tokens that carry stories of hope. Through this initiative, Something Blu aimed to create opportunities for these women, ensuring that their artistry and resilience are recognized and valued by the community.

This is in partnership with the Cebu City Jail Women’s Dormitory, in support of its livelihood. The program was aimed to provide women with access to skills training in sewing and handicrafts and soon, hotel housekeeping, enabling them to earn an income while in detention and prepare for reintegration into society.

Radisson Blu Cebu’s current general manager, Ann Olalo, the hotel’s first Filipino and first female general manager, shares “Through this partnership, Something Blu extends its mission beyond weddings,”

“It is a story about second chances, helping underprivileged women to regain their self-esteem as they learn new skills and rebuild their lives and become productive members of the community, and leave no woman behind.”

As it approaches its 10th milestone year, Something Blu continues to evolve and with its fusion of romance, style, and responsible business, Something Blu 2025 manifested to be more than just a fair but a celebration of love in all other forms.
