Three Threads

For three years
we were buried
under these masks.

Three years of breathing
through our eyes, shedding
our days, one after the other.

As this thin cloth cut deep lines
on our faces, they remind us
of real dangers and hidden wars.

As the years flow into these threads
when woven tight, they can hold
each and every word
of faith, hope and love.
