STA. CRUZ, Laguna – This July, the Provincial Government of Laguna celebrates National Nutrition Month with the theme: “Sa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat – Food and Nutrition Security, Maging Priority, Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin” (Together in the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition: Nutrition for All – Food and Nutrition Security as a Priority, Adequate Food is Our Right).
To promote better health and physical well-being, the public is encouraged to support local products, regularly eat naturally grown vegetables, fish, chicken, and meat such as pork or beef for their protein content. It is also advised to drink fresh milk and consume fruits, and most importantly, to drink more than eight glasses of water daily to maintain good health and avoid various illnesses.
The Provincial Government of Laguna – Office of the Provincial Agriculturist is distributing free vegetable seeds for households to plant in their backyards. Interested individuals may visit the FAES-OPAg Demonstration Farm in Calios, Santa Cruz, Laguna to get vegetable seedlings.
