A group has slammed motorcycle taxi Move It for neglecting its screening process that allegedly resulted in high cases of accidents.
Ronald Gustilo, Digital Pinoys national campaigner, presented during the hearing of the Senate Committee on Public Services affidavits of some riders admitting that they were hired by Move It without undergoing skills assessment and field training.
“Move It po iyong pinasukan nila. In fact, nandito po iyong riders na kasamahan ng ibang nag-submit ng affidavit. Naglalakas-loob sila dahil alam nila na after ng hearing na ito, made-platform na sila sa Move It,” Gustilo said.
Gustilo also submitted a compilation of accidents involving Move It due to the lack of training of its riders, stressing that the company should be held accountable for it.
Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) chairperson Teofilo Guadiz said the agency has started a probe into the matter and will release a decision anytime soon.
Meanwhile, the LTFRB ordered Move It to decommission its 7,000 riders after the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) found it guilty of overboarding.
“We did conduct an investigation. There is an overboarding of roughly 7,000 units,” Guadiz said.
“We will be asking Move It as soon as we serve the order to decommission the 7,000 riders,” he added.
A Move It representative said it will comply once it receives a copy of the directive.
