VIA GRAPHIC PLUS | Manila, Philippines (August 2026) — Shell Energy Philippines (SEPH) has marked a significant milestone in the development of its planned 30MW/60MWh Hermosa Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Hermosa, Bataan, with the execution of key agreements covering the project’s engineering, construction, and long-term operations.
The milestone reflects the company’s continued efforts to help strengthen the Philippines’ energy system through reliable and future-ready power solutions. As the country’s energy landscape continues to evolve, battery energy storage systems are playing an increasingly important role in improving grid flexibility, enhancing reliability, and supporting the integration of diverse energy sources.
Under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract, Power Dimension, Inc will be delivering for the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the Power Titan 3.0-based battery energy storage facility, including its associated electrical and balance-of-plant infrastructure. Separate Long-Term Service Agreement (LTSA) and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) agreements with Sungrow Power Technology Solutions Philippines Inc have also been executed to provide ongoing technical support, maintenance, and operational services.

Located in Hermosa, Bataan, the facility is designed with a storage capacity of 60MWh, enabling it to store electricity when supply is available and discharge it when needed to help support grid reliability and operational flexibility.
The Hermosa BESS project forms part of Shell Energy Philippines’ growing energy infrastructure portfolio. Once operational, the facility will be owned and operated by SEPH and is expected to contribute to a more flexible and resilient power system, supporting the country’s evolving energy needs while reinforcing Shell’s commitment to delivering reliable energy solutions for the Philippines.
