Before the second episode of the Philippines Graphic Literary Workshop (PGLW) concluded on March 21, we knew that we had one more thing that we can offer our bright young fellows: a starting platform for their creative endeavors. Here, we present one of their final outputs from the workshop. We also asked them to provide an artwork that they think best represents their stories. Read on.
Twirl and glimmer
into the abyss of indigo streaks, lost.
I want her to sway with me, to see light
draped onto her figure. It starts with eyes on
her little ballet as the theatre light beams
the blemishes on her face, proudly
she mocks the other gaseous orbs crystallized.
If they are diamonds, revered
not by the mere rock who never had its own shine,
then she’s uncaring of the value of a gaze.
Sometimes her clam is a sunset that trails into the night
safeguarding the gem
the pearl in the sky.
