ArenaPlus, the official sports entertainment gateway of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), renewed its partnership with the association by committing to provide an entertaining PBA Commissioner’s Cup Season 49 in the pre-season press conference last August 14 in Mandaluyong City.
The upcoming season marks the brand’s second year in the league. Joining the signing ceremony were Total Gamezone Xtreme Incorporated President Rafael Jasper Vicencio, PBA Chairman Ricky Vargas, PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial, PBA Vice-Chairman Alfrancis Chua, and PBA Treasurer Raymond Zorilla.
This season is a significant event in reshaping the entertainment basketball landscape in the country, bringing new sets of rules and making basketball more enjoyable. Among these rules are the introduction of the historic 4-point line, the removal of the over-the-backboard violation, restrictions on the official suspension of play (15-second leeway for players), and the coaches’ hashmark.
To make this season more accessible, PBA will be selling the season’s opening tickets for Php 49.00 offering the season’s first match between Meralco Boltz and Magnolia Hotshots on August 18 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
