Eternal Gardens, one of the leading memorial park developers in the Philippines, officially broke ground on February 15, 2025, for its second memorial park in the Bicol region and its 13th nationwide. This new nine-hectare property is strategically situated along the main road of Brgy. Pacol in Naga City, making it easily accessible for families seeking dignified memorial spaces for their loved ones.

The milestone was celebrated in a ceremony that began with a Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. David Buenaventura, who shared a heartfelt homily on love, emphasizing God’s love and the commandment to love one another. His reflection highlighted the vision of the late Ambassador Antonio L. Cabangon Chua, founder of Eternal Gardens, to provide Filipino families with first-class memorial parks. Under the leadership of Chairman and CEO D. Edgard A. Cabangon, this vision lives on as the company strives to provide every beloved family member with a dignified resting place.

Following the mass, Branch Manager Richard B. Bringas took center stage to deliver his welcome remarks, warmly acknowledging everyone present for the occasion. He concluded with a pledge: “I won’t make these remarks long, but let me assure you—a first-class memorial park will soon rise here, and we will uphold the quality of service that Eternal Gardens is known for.”

The program continued with the official blessing of the grounds. The ceremony included the symbolic burial of the time capsule containing the blueprint for the memorial park, the turning of the first sod, and the signing of the hard hat.

The ceremonial groundbreaking was led by D. Edgard A. Cabangon, Chairman and CEO of Eternal Gardens, alongside distinguished guests including Naga City Vice Mayor Cecilia De Asis, Head of the City Engineer’s Office Engr. Alexander Caning, City Administrator Joselito Del Rosario, Brgy. Pacol Chairman Ruben Limbo, and the Barangay Council. Also in attendance were Eternal Gardens executives VP for Finance Marvin C. Timbol, VP for Sales and Marketing Jose Antonio V. Rivera, and VP for Engineering and Project Development Engr. Niño S. Sayco.

After the ceremonial groundbreaking, the dignitaries then delivered their messages of support. Brgy. Chairman Ruben Limbo spoke proudly about the development of this new memorial park, expressing his full support for the project. He fondly recalled how his own loved ones are interred at the Eternal Gardens Memorial Park in Brgy. Balatas, further emphasizing the trust and confidence the community has in the company.

City Administrator Joselito Del Rosario expresses his gratitude to the Eternal Gardens management and conveys the City Mayor’s appreciation.
City Administrator Joselito Del Rosario also extended his gratitude on behalf of the City Mayor Nelson S. Legacion, recognizing Eternal Gardens’ decision to expand in Naga City. He assured the city’s support for the development of the park, thanking the company for its ongoing contribution to the community.

Vice Mayor Cecilia De Asis expressed her deep gratitude to Eternal Gardens for its invaluable contribution to the people of Naga and neighboring towns. She recognized that the establishment of this new memorial park will offer grieving families a sense of comfort and peace, knowing they will have a dignified place to honor their loved ones. “Maraming salamat po sa pamumuno ni Sir Edgard at sa buong pamilya ng Eternal Gardens. Salamat po sa inyong serbisyo at sa pagbibigay ng isang marangal at magandang himlayan para sa aming mga mahal sa buhay,” she said. Vice Mayor De Asis also shared that her own loved ones are interred at Eternal Gardens in Brgy. Balatas, further emphasizing her trust in Eternal Gardens.

D. Edgard A. Cabangon, Chairman and CEO of Eternal Gardens, began his message by acknowledging the dignitaries present and expressing his gratitude for their support in bringing this project to life. He then echoed Rev. Fr. David’s homily about love, recalling the lesson his father, Ambassador Antonio L. Cabangon Chua, taught him: “Ang pagmamahal ay hindi lamang sinasabi; ‘yan ay ginagawa at ipinapakita.” He further expressed his appreciation to the Brgy. Pacol Council and the City Government of Naga for their trust in this development, stating, “This is how we show our love to you. For your continued trust in us, soon, a first-class memorial park—known for the quality of service the Eternal brand has been delivering for decades—will rise here. Maraming salamat po sa inyo!”
The new memorial park in Brgy. Pacol is a response to the success of the first park in Brgy. Balatas, Naga City, which now has limited inventory and is nearly sold out. The development of the new park reinforces Eternal Gardens’ commitment to providing accessible, high-quality memorial services to families across the country.
The event was also attended by employees and salesforce of Eternal Gardens, as well as representatives from other ALC Group of Companies.
