Citi has been named Best Bank for Public Sector Clients, Best Corporate Bank – Large Corporates & MNCs, and Best Correspondent Bank, among international banks in the Philippines, at the FinanceAsia Awards 2025. These recognitions underscore Citi’s leadership and commitment to delivering with excellence to its clients and to advancing economic growth in the Philippines. In 2024, Citi’s public sector banking unit supported initiatives geared toward economic growth, including an agreement with the Asian Development Bank to expand supply chain financing for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which generated over $100 million in additional annual trade across Asia Pacific. Citi also played a key role in the Republic of the Philippines’ landmark G3 sovereign bond deal, valued at $2.25 billion and €1 billion.

For corporate and multinational clients, Citi delivered innovative financing and risk management solutions and supported clients and communities through digital inclusion and women empowerment.

The bank also continues to hold a leading position in payments as the sole settlement bank for US dollar clearing in the Philippines, supporting over 40 local banks with their requirements.

Recently, Citi’s mandate as the exclusive settlement bank for the Philippine Domestic Dollar Transfer System (PDDTS) was extended until 2030.

“These recognitions highlight the strength of our innovative solutions, our incredibly dedicated team, and the immense trust our clients place in Citi,” said Paul Favila, Philippines Citi Country Officer and Banking Head. “As we continue to work as a trusted partner to our clients, we remain laser-focused on the important role we play in helping businesses thrive and in fueling economic growth.”

Earlier this year, Citi was also recognized at The Asset Triple A Awards as Best Bank for Sustainable Finance, Best Commercial Bank, Best Sustainability Bond – Sovereign for the Republic of the Philippines US$1 billion sustainability bond, and Best Domestic Custodian.
