NextUp reclaims the practice of writing with face-to-face workshops for National Literature Month

Manila, Philippines (April 2026) — At a time when writing is increasingly outsourced to platforms and prompts, NextUp PH is returning the focus to the writer.

In celebration of National Literature Month, NextUp PH, in collaboration with Good Intentions Books, presents a curated series of face-to-face writing workshops designed to ground participants in the realities of writing as craft, discipline, and professional practice.

Running throughout April, the program brings together a diverse roster of accomplished writers, editors, and creative professionals actively working across literature, publishing, film, and communications. The series is curated by award-winning author and editor Sarge Lacuesta, assembling a faculty of practitioners with deep, field-based expertise.

The workshops span a wide spectrum of writing disciplines—from poetry and screenwriting to lifestyle writing and professional communication—reflecting the evolving demands of creative and knowledge work today. Topics include:

• Writing for Professionals

• Basics of Poetry

• Screenwriting Intensives

• Writing for Young Minds

• Freelance Writing: From Prerequisites to Process

• Speaking and Communication for Impact

Designed as small-group, face-to-face sessions, NextUp’s Literature Month offerings emphasize practical application over theory. Participants work directly with instructors through guided exercises, live feedback, and workshop-based learning—bridging the gap between craft and real-world use.

A key differentiator of the program is its practitioner-led approach. Each class is handled by professionals actively working in their respective fields, offering participants not just instruction, but a clear view of how writing functions in actual contexts—whether in publishing, media, or professional environments.

In an increasingly online education landscape, the return to in-person learning is deliberate: focused, rigorous, and built around presence, attention, and exchange.

With limited slots per session, the program is designed to maintain an intimate and high-engagement learning experience.

For schedules and registration, follow @nextup.ph on Instagram and Facebook, or message directly to reserve a slot.
