COVID-19 vaccination for kids ages 5-11 years old kicked off Friday, Feb. 18 at SM City Lucena, personally supervised by Mayor Roderick ‘Dondon’ Alcala.
Resbakuna Kids is initiated by the city government, with key officials in attendance including City Administrator Jun Alcala, City Health Officer Jaycee Tabernilla and officials from DOH-Region 4A.
300 kids from the age group were inoculated, in anticipation of face-to-face classes.
Mayor Alcala stressed the importance of being vaccinated against COVID-19 to provide them with protection, even in the event of acquiring the virus.
He added the city government aims to vaccinate 500 kids daily. The city recorded more than 400,000 kids in the 5-11 age group and hopes to vaccinate 70% at the soonest possible time.
To have their child vaccinated, parents must present a consent form, birth certificate or baptismal certificate of the child and parents authorization if accompanied by guardians.
