VIA GRAPHIC PLUS — SM Foundation, Inc (SMFI) Executive Director for Health and Medical Programs Connie Angeles has been recognized with the UP Alumni Association Presidential Merit Award during the 2026 UPAA Awards ceremony held at the Ang Bahay ng Alumni, UP Campus, Diliman, Quezon City.
The award honors Angeles for a public life grounded in service to local communities and vulnerable sectors. As SM Foundation Executive Director for over 25 years, she led the health and medical programs to benefit the less privileged communities nationwide.
Prior to her involvement in SMFI’s programs, she served as a local government official first as a councilor and later vice-mayor of Quezon City. The UP Alumni Association recognizes a graduate shaped by the Unversity’s tradition of public purpose and years of direct engagement with Filipino communities.
Angeles graduated from the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy degree.
Started in 1927, the Philippines Graphic is the longest-running printed magazine of national circulation that provides relevant news and features and promotes Philippine literature.
