“Big Bad Wolf Unite on a Mission to 1 Million New Readers” Kicks Off at Glorietta

Put your reading glasses back on, Manila Wolfies! Big Bad Wolf is back and ready to make a splash at the Ayala Malls, Glorietta Activity Center, from June 19 to 26! The world’s biggest book sale continues its quest to reach more readers with “Big Bad Wolf Unite on a Mission to 1 Million New Readers.”

The Big Bad Wolf comes back to Manila, but the Wolf is not alone! The Glorietta book sale brings the return of old partnerships and the start of new ones. Metrobank is back with an exclusive offer for credit cardholders. They can avail of a 0% 3-month installment promo for a single-receipt purchase worth at least P3,000. Shoppers who are first in line at the bank’s booth with their Metrobank card or app in hand are also in for a treat with a chance to score a P100 voucher, which they can use for a minimum spend of P2,000 at the sale.

Swedish furnishing brand IKEA is also coming to Glorietta to give readers an extra special treat. Zing members get to enjoy an exclusive discount on their first purchase. All they have to do is present their membership to get 5% off, no minimum purchase!

The Big Bad Wolf Glorietta Book Sale features an impressive collection of over two million books, spanning a diverse array of genres. From contemporary bestsellers and timeless classics to children’s literature, educational titles, and Filipino reads, there is something for everyone, all at unbeatable prices! Big Bad Wolf is determined to reach new readers from communities across the country and to nurture a lifelong love of reading.

Big Bad Wolf Books and Glorietta joined forces as part of Ayala Malls’ “BookLat: Open. Imagine. Discover.” initiative, which seeks to provide opportunities for learning and recreation. Derived from the Filipino word “buklat,” “BookLat” highlights reading for leisure and entertainment, offering a wide collection of affordable books for all ages. Ayala Malls encourages customers to donate a book for every purchase to support Ayala Land’s project promoting early childhood literacy. This initiative aims to collect 20,000 books for public school students from kindergarten to grade 3 in Ayala Land Estates and Ayala Malls communities. To kickstart this effort, Big Bad Wolf and Glorietta each donated 1,000 books to the cause.

Big Bad Wolf co-founder Andrew Yap expressed his unwavering enthusiasm for their mission, stating, “Today, we make another significant step towards our goal of inspiring a new generation of readers.” He added, “Our mission is really to make sure that everyone, regardless of their background, has access to all kinds of books.

“We are always happy to see how enthusiastic people are about books and reading,” said Big Bad Wolf Philippines Managing Partner Carol Chuaying. “Our goal with every book sale extends beyond selling books; it’s about building a community where people can share their love for reading and discover new passions.”

Yap and Chuaying led the opening of the Big Bad Wolf Glorietta Book Sale, which drew book lovers from all over the city. The event also saw the presence of the Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines, His Excellency Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino; Glorietta General Manager Sherlene Cruz; Ayala Malls Consumer Engagement Head Kharen Pascual; Ayala Malls Operations Head Hamm Katipunan; Metrobank Credit Card General Usage Head Emily Koa; and 2GO Business Unit Head for 2GO Forwarding Francis Anne “Faye” Alonzo Babar.

Also present at the event as “Book Bosses” were The Vanguard Academy Head Principal Ericson Perez; The Little Sandbox Preschool Directress Mia Villavicencio; The Hygge Library Cafe Co-owner Kat Clade; and Pinay Girl Boss Founder and CEO, The Oil Natural Project Founder, and Young Living Essential Oils Global Team Leader, Atty. Tina de Guzman. Big Bad Wolf promises a bigger, badder, and grander book sale experience ahead for both avid readers and casual shoppers.

Big Bad Wolf elevated the fun and made the Glorietta book sale more engaging for everyone, even the littlest Wolfies. With “Little Wolfies Crew,” the youngest guests get a chance to learn how readers today can be leaders of tomorrow. Plus, little wolfies try their hand at being welcome howlers, police hunters, or sellers and check out wolfies.

There’s more! Big Bad Wolf is calling on more people to join their cause with “Book Boss,” which offers organizations a free table for one day during the book sale. In return, participating organizations can hold events or activities for the community, suggest books based on their brand category, or handpick book bundles onsite!
