MANILA, PHILIPPINES (October 30, 2026) — In a historic push for radical fiscal transparency, civic advocacy movement Creators Against Corruption (CAC) and open-source civic tech initiative BetterGov.ph today announced a strategic coalition dubbed the “Nerds & Voices Alliance.”
Combining open-source data analytics with high-reach creator distribution, the partnership aims to demystify, visualize, and broadcast critical findings from the newly released 2027 National Budget (NEP/GAA) directly to ordinary Filipino citizens
For decades, public financial reports and line-item allocations have remained locked behind impenetrable PDF tables, obscure budget hearing jargon, and convoluted procurement databases.

By fusing BetterGov.ph’s technical infrastructure with CAC’s nationwide network of digital storytellers, the initiative bridges the divide between data extraction and public outrage.
The coalition turns dry spreadsheets into high-impact short-form videos, interactive data visualizations, infographics, and investigative exposés.
Under the partnership, BetterGov.ph’s team of volunteer software engineers and data scientists will continuously ingest, cross-reference, and flag anomalies across 2027 line-item budget proposals, historical procurement databases, and agency-level realignments.
Those findings will flow directly into CAC’s verified network of creators, lifestyle influencers, tech reviewers, and citizen watchdogs, who will package the data into easily digestible narratives for platforms like TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
“The days when politicians could bury dubious insertions inside a five-thousand-page budget document because they counted on the public being too bored or confused to care are over,” said Carlo Ople, Founder of Creators Against Corruption. “Nerds and creators are two sides of the same civic spear. The tech guys build the radar, and the influencers fire the megaphone. When an angry developer who understands SQL joins forces with an angry creator who understands reach, corruption loses its favorite shield: public apathy. We are taking the 2027 budget line by line and translating it into the everyday reality of commuters, taxpayers, and small business owners.”
“Our frustration as engineers came from watching billions in public funds get obscured behind terrible interfaces, broken links, and intentional bureaucratic friction,” said Jason Torres, Founder of BetterGov.ph. “We built open tools to parse the data, scrape the procurement records, and map where every single peso actually leads. But raw code alone doesn’t spark institutional reform—people do. Partnering with Creators Against Corruption ensures that our data pipelines don’t just sit on GitHub or a technical dashboard; they land squarely on millions of mobile screens where citizens can see the math, ask the tough questions, and demand real answers.”
KEY PARTNERSHIP INITIATIVES
- The 2027 Budget Radar: A shared pipeline where BetterGov.ph flags suspicious reallocations, repetitive flood control or unprogrammed appropriations, and contractor tracks, instantly queuing them for creative breakdown by CAC members.
- Creator Data Kits: Plain-language data sheets, verified charts, and interactive calculators provided to verified creators, ensuring that viral videos remain fact-checked, audit-proof, and legally sound.
- Open Civic Dashboards: Public-facing web tools hosted by BetterGov.ph allowing regular citizens to search their local congressional district or municipal allocations under the 2027 budget.
The coalition has already been working together and will continue to roll out data drops, live breakdowns, and video explainers over the next few weeks.
