Officials of Pag-IBIG Fund launched on July 23 the Pag-IBIG Virtual Offices catering to overseas Filipinos in North America (United States and Canada), United Kingdom & Ireland, United Arab Emirates & Kuwait, and Singapore.

The Pag-IBIG Virtual Offices began operations in June this year.  The service model is a departure from the agency’s traditional overseas service desks which are physically manned and open only during set business hours.

“With the Pag-IBIG Virtual Offices, our online service platform will provide service that transcends distance and time zones. Distance will no longer be a hindrance to service our OFWs. This is aligned with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s call to make government service responsive to the needs of the public by harnessing technology,” said Secretary Eduardo D. del Rosario, who heads both the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), and the 11-member Pag-IBIG Fund Board of Trustees.

Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Acmad Moti said that the Virtual Offices will be a more convenient option for Filipinos abroad.

Virtual Offices are accessible online via email and on Facebook, and manned by a team in Manila doing round-the-clock shifts with full and secure access to the Pag-IBIG Fund’s systems and database.

“With our Virtual Office, it’s like OFWs having their own personal Pag-IBIG Fund branch at their fingertips. With just a smartphone and an internet connection, our members overseas can now do their transactions with Pag-IBIG Fund online, anytime, wherever they are. What’s more, we now have a dedicated team of people behind each Virtual Office who are specially trained to quickly resolve concerns of our members abroad. We know that our overseas Filipino workers deserve the best service from us.  By harnessing technology and offering our services online, we are glad that we can give them the same type of service that our members here in the Philippines receive. And that is tapat na serbisyo, mula sa puso,” Moti said.
