“We are really adapting with this technology and our Local School Board is ready for this. I know that these tablets will be a big help to our learners.”

That was the message of San Pedro City Mayor Lourdes S. Cataquiz who led the official turnover ceremony of tablets for learners at the Gabaldon Hall, San Pedro Central Elementary School recently.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Education had to adopt a blended learning set up in 2020 which combined different distance learning modalities such as the use of printed modules and materials delivered through television, radio and the Internet.

“We aim to improve the quality of education in our City. It is very important for families that their children graduate from school because this is the key to their family development with the help of our school heads and teachers,” she added.

Also present during the turnover ceremony were Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Education Chair and City Councilor Aaron Cataquiz, OIC Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Lourdes Bermudez, OIC Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Ronald Ramilo, Public Affairs and Information Office Head and Acting Local School Board Secretary Jimbo Ambayec and school heads.
