Manila, Philippines — The United Print and Multimedia Group (UPMG) has partnered with Gen. Gregorio Del Pilar Elementary School in Manila to launch its upcoming reading campaign, “Back to Basic: Flip and Scroll – A Reading Quest for Every Kid on Pages and Screens.”

Set to roll out by the end of August, the campaign seeks to promote literacy among young Filipino learners through a combination of printed and digital reading materials. Gen. Gregorio Del Pilar Elementary School is the first to accept UPMG’s invitation, marking the start of what is envisioned as a long-term advocacy for reading and education.

“We are very happy to have Gen. Gregorio Del Pilar Elementary School as our first partner,” said UPMG President Vivienne Motomal. “This is a first step in making reading more exciting and accessible to children, both on paper and on screen.”

School principal Rizalina Castro expressed gratitude for being the inaugural beneficiary of the project. “We’re honored to be chosen by UPMG. This partnership means so much to our students, and we’re excited for what lies ahead.”

If successful, UPMG plans to expand the initiative to more schools nationwide.
