via GRAPHIC PLUS — SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena has surpassed 2,400 total shows since opening in 2012, reinforcing its position as the Philippines’ ultramodern and world-class sports and entertainment venue.
In 2025 alone, the Arena mounted more than 200 events and welcomed over 1.1 million attendees, 10% higher than last year, reflecting sustained demand from both international and domestic promoters.
The 15,000-seat venue has served as the Philippine stage for major global tours, including performances by Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5 and BTS, and has hosted high-profile sporting and cultural events such as the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2025 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship and key activities for Miss Universe 2016. Long-running family productions such as Disney On Ice have also been consistent fixtures in its event calendar.
“These events reflect the strength of demand for large-scale, professionally managed venues in the Philippines,” said Jeffrey C. Lim, President of SM Prime Holdings. “Our continued investments in our arena portfolio align with our strategy to strengthen our integrated developments, support tourism, and deliver compelling live experiences to our customers.”
To maintain long-term competitiveness, SM Prime has implemented targeted infrastructure and technology upgrades across its arena platform.
In 2025, MOA Arena completed a US$2.1-million installation of a new center-hung LED system supplied by Daktronics, enhancing visual clarity and production flexibility for sports and concert configurations. Earlier enhancements included large-format digital displays and upgraded entry systems designed to improve crowd flow, operational efficiency, and security.
The new SM Arena Cube center-hung enhances the viewing experience with clear visuals and immersive surround sound, improving sightlines from every seat and as part of the upgrades at the venue, it supports high-definition live feeds, real data integration and synchronized visuals, reinforcing the venue’s commitment to quality live entertainment.
SM Prime is set to expand its arena footprint with the opening of SM Seaside Cebu Arena in the second quarter of 2026. Located within the integrated SM Seaside City Cebu development, the new venue is expected to broaden access to large-scale entertainment in the Visayas while contributing to tourism, retail activity, and regional economic participation.
Beyond its flagship arena, SM Prime continues to support live events through medium-format and outdoor venues across its portfolio, which has a total capacity of 110,000.
These include the SMDC Festival Grounds, which can accommodate up to 70,000 attendees; the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds, with a capacity of up to 20,000; and the SM Cebu Concert Grounds, which can host up to 20,000 guests.
