“When we talk about BHRT, it is important to understand that it encompasses a wide spectrum of treatments that vary depending on patient needs,” he said.
As hormones decline with age, this can increase risks of certain health concerns such as stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, diabetes, and more. “When I started years ago, there was no formal training or medical journals to support it. We were building the field from the ground up, and have been teaching about it ever since,” Dr. Neal said.
