VIA GRAPHIC PLUS — As the University of Perpetual Help DALTA Medical Center-Las Pinas celebrates its 50th year, it chalked up a significant win after its Chair and Founder Dr./BGen Antonio Laperal Tamayo was awarded “Hospital CEO of the Year Excellence Award” given by Hospital Management Asia held in ceremonies on Sept. 3, 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand.
University of Perpetual Help Medical Center-Las Pinas President Lt. Col. Richard M. Tamayo and Medical Management Officer Dra. Rachel Antonette Tamayo received the award in behalf of the CEO and Founder.

“This award is a welcome gift as we celebrate the 50th year of our institution. We dedicate this award to all Perpetualite health workers who worked diligently and selflessly in pursuit of our mission that is embedded in our motto ‘Dedicated to Life,’” Dr.BGen Tamayo said in a statement.
Hospital Management Asia (HMA) is regional community that helps hospital owners, C-level executives, directors, clinicians, and healthcare leaders improve outcomes and efficiency. Its key focus areas include quality and safety, operational excellence, healthcare innovation, and patient and staff experience. It has an expansive presence in Asia’s hospital management community and extensive ties to medical and hospital associations in the region.
The HMA hosts the Asia-Pacific region’s largest annual gathering of healthcare leaders where the HMA Awards are given. In its 25th year, this year’s competition was exceptionally competitive with some 400 entries from 153 hospitals across 18 countries.

Dr./BGen Tamayo established the University of Perpetual Help DALTA Medical Center-Las Pinas in 1976 with a purposeful mission to deliver quality healthcare to underserved communities particulary in Southern Metro Manila. From a 50-bed facility, the hospital is now a tertiary 285-bed teaching and training hospital with state-of-the-art diagnostic, surgical, interventional, and therapeutic facilities.
Started in 1927, the Philippines Graphic is the longest-running printed magazine of national circulation that provides relevant news and features and promotes Philippine literature.
