The on-ground activity in Batangas and Laguna highlights Honda’s continued commitment to environmental protection
VIA GRAPHIC PLUS — Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI), the leading motorcycle manufacturer in the country, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR – CENRO), the City Government of Tanauan, and the City Government of Biñan, spearheaded a two-leg tree-planting project in Batangas and Laguna in support of local reforestation, ecosystem restoration, and community development, bringing together Honda employees and LGU officials, alongside selected CENRO representatives planting a total of 400 Kamagong seedlings.
The first leg was held along Bagbag River in Tanauan City, Batangas, on September 18. The planting of Kamagong seedlings will help in the riverbank rehabilitation, riparian vegetation recovery, and erosion control, helping to create a more stable and resilient river ecosystem.

While on October 10, Honda extended its environmental campaign with the second leg of the tree-planting program at The Meadows in Biñan, Laguna, turning their focus towards urban greening and flood prevention, joined by 50 community volunteers who also extended their commitment as the direct beneficiary of this project.

“Honda believes that environmental responsibility strongly calls for collective efforts. Through our partnership with DENR-CENRO and respective LGUs, we provide small yet meaningful contributions to the environment through the seeds we planted, while also encouraging the building of stronger and more resilient communities”, said Ms. Riza Quito, Operating Head of Corporate Affairs & IT Operations of Honda Philippines, Inc.

The tree-planting initiative highlights HPI’s commitment to growing a more sustainable future. These efforts support United Nation’s three Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aligning with SDG 13’s call for climate action, SDG 15’s focus on protecting lands, and SDG 17’s need for partnerships toward sustainable development. Following the success of the two-leg tree planting project, Honda looks to carry out more local activities to reach more communities and protect the environment.
