VIA GRAPHIC PLUS — Halloween takes many forms, from children’s costume parties and playful discoveries to themed dining and live music. This October, nine properties of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. (SMHCC) are marking the season with celebrations designed for different ages and interests, giving families and friends more ways to spend time together beyond the traditional trick-or-treat routine.
Throughout its hotel network, the programs combine seasonal food, interactive activities, and entertainment with the distinctive settings of each property. Children can take part in magic shows, games, costume activities, and trick-or-treating, while adults can enjoy festive buffets, poolside dining, specialty pastries or a music festival by Manila Bay. The lineup also includes a toy-collection initiative that places sharing at the heart of the celebration.
“Halloween is an opportunity for our properties to create occasions that people can enjoy together, whether they are looking for a family afternoon, a themed meal, or an evening of entertainment,” said SMHCC Executive Vice President Peggy E. Angeles. “By shaping each celebration around its setting and audience, our hotels offer guests different ways to make the season their own.”
Playful discoveries for younger guests

Several celebrations put children at the center, with activities built around imagination, participation, and a little Halloween magic. At Pico Sands Hotel, “Pico BOO!: The Lost Island” brings games, lucky draws, a magic show and treats to the BAIA Ballroom at Pico de Loro Beach & Country Club. Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu’s “Trick or Treat: Enchanted Forest” adds a woodland-inspired setting, trick-or-treating, games and a costume contest. Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo’s “BOO! Bites & Delights” combines a merienda buffet with a haunted-themed room, while Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod pairs its “The Enchanted Forest” festivities with activities at SM City Bacolod’s “Gears and Ghouls.”
At Taal Vista Hotel, “Brick-or-Treat Getaway” adds a spirit of giving to the fun through a toy-collection theme, alongside games, magic shows and a snack buffet. Conrad Manila’s “Sorcery of Fun and Flavors” also blends dining with family activities, including trick-or-treating, face painting, storytelling, and giveaways.
Seasonal dining, music, and after-dark gatherings

Food is another thread running through this year’s lineup, with properties offering everything from Halloween-themed buffet spreads and merienda favorites to Brazilian barbecue and poolside fare. Conrad Manila extends the seasonal mood beyond its buffet with Halloween cakes and pastries at Bru Coffee Bar. Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA serves barbecue, unlimited wings, pasta and rice during “A Night of Frights,” accompanied by a live band, while Park Inn by Radisson Davao’s “Churrasco After Dark 2.0: Alter Ego Party” pairs a Brazilian barbecue buffet with live entertainment, arcade games, and Halloween drink specials.

For guests seeking music as the main attraction, Lanson Place Mall of Asia hosts the TLI Radio Halloween Festival in its courtyard, featuring eight DJs against a Manila Bay backdrop. Together, these gatherings show the range of ways the season can be enjoyed, from daytime family activities to a full evening of food and entertainment.
