2025 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard recognition underscores Sunlife’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and protecting the long-term interests of Clients

VIA GRAPHIC PLUS | TAGUIG CITY, Philippines (October 2026) – Sun Life of Canada (Philippines), Inc. (Sunlife) has been recognized with a Golden Arrow Award for the eighth consecutive year, based on the 2025 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS).

The recognition reflects Sunlife’s sustained commitment to strong corporate governance and responsible business practices. More importantly, it reinforces the standards that help Sunlife protect its Clients’ interests, make sound decisions, manage risks responsibly, and remain accountable to the people it serves.

The recognition ceremony was held recently at the Makati Shangri-La in Makati City, with Sunlife Philippines’ Country Head and CEO, JJ Moreno, and General Counsel, Atty. Paolo Macapagal, in attendance.

For a financial services organization, good corporate governance practices directly support the trust Clients place in the company. Strong governance helps ensure that decisions are made responsibly, risks are appropriately managed, and the organization remains focused on delivering on its long-term commitments.

“Receiving the Golden Arrow Award for the eighth consecutive year is an affirmation of the standards we have consistently upheld. More than the recognition itself, what matters is what good governance enables us to do for our Clients and stakeholders: make responsible decisions, safeguard their interests, and earn their trust every day,” said Moreno.

The ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard assesses companies based on established corporate governance principles and practices. For Sunlife, consistently meeting strong governance standards helps build a more resilient organization that can continue serving Clients through different life stages and economic environments.

“Our Clients entrust us with some of their most important financial goals. That responsibility calls for transparency, accountability, and integrity in how we run our business. Strong corporate governance helps us honor that trust and remain a partner our Clients can count on for the long term,” Moreno added.

The eighth consecutive Golden Arrow recognition further strengthens Sunlife’s commitment to continuous improvement in corporate governance and responsible stewardship as it helps Filipinos achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives.
