Bellevue Resort breaks new record during the International Coastal Cleanup 2018

Last Sept. 22, two-time ASEAN Green Hotel awardee and sole International Coastal Cleanup 2018 participant in Panglao Island, The Bellevue Resort, spearheaded the Doljo Beach cleanup in support of the global movement. The cleanup brigade was composed of almost 350 volunteers, breaking a new record for having the most coastal cleanup volunteers in Bohol.

A total of around 750 kilos of assorted bottles, plastic, styrofoam, tin cans, iron, and residual waste was collected from the beach shore while another 15 kilos of plastic waste was collected from the sea by the underwater cleanup team.The Bellevue Resort’s International Coastal Cleanup partner, Plastic-free Bohol, conducted a talk on environmental awareness to help the volunteers understand the effects of human consumption and waste to the environment, and how they can help in saving Mother Earth.

The 5-star eco-friendly resort has already deployed several healthy and green initiatives such as replacing in-room PET bottled water with glasses and pitchers, holding beach and mangrove cleanups, recycling, and doing organic farming to name a few.
