President Rodrigo Duterte is very satisfied with the leadership of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), according to Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Undersecretary Lorraine Marie T. Badoy recently.

Badoy made this announcement over “Mandirigma sa Kawanggawa”, a radio program over DzRH hosted by Florante “Zaff” Solmerin and Karen Ow-Yong last week.

“The President is amazed at how PCSO General Manager Alexander Balutan is running the agency. It is unprecedented,” said Badoy.

From one of the known corrupt agencies in the country, PCSO has transformed into a more transparent agency that is charity and service-oriented.

“Balutan may be facing intrigues, but such is expected if you are transforming an agency and want to clean up a system,” Badoy stressed.

The undersecretary revealed that President Duterte noted that PCSO is now working as an agency that it has been envisioned to be—an agency working for charity.

In 2017, Balutan reported a gross sale of P51.9B from the P39,564,206,760 revenues in 2016. Simply stated, PCSO hit a 33.93 percent boost in sales.

This year, Balutan set a target agency’s target sales to P55 million, but it has already been surpassed.

As of January to November, the overall revenues of PCSO registered a whopping P56,997,652,257.63 based on a data from the Gaming, Product Development and Marketing Sector headed by Assistant General Manager Arnel Casas.

“I have to credit also this unprecedented success to the able leadership of our Branch Operations Sector Assistant General Manager Remeliza Gabuyo for steering our branch offices to work hard with all our Authorized STL Agents (ASAs) in revenue collection. Kudos to all our branch managers and STL agents!” he said.

Of the P56 billion gross sales, P29.92 billion came from Lotto and digit games, STL at P21.97 billion (Jan. to Oct. only), Keno at P4.14 billion, and Instant Sweepstakes at P958.36 million.

Compared to the same period last year, Lotto is up by 2.65%; while STL is up by 58%. Of all Lotto games, Ultra Lotto 6/58 is still the highest earning product from January to November at P7 billion, followed by Mega Lotto 6/42 at P2.4 billion, Super Lotto 6/49 at P2.5 billion, Grand Lotto 6/55 at P2.3 billion, and Lotto 6/42 at P2.1 billion.

As for the digit games, 3-Digit is the highest earning product at P6.8 billion, EZ2 at P6 billion, 4-Digit at P439 million, and 6-Digit at P236 million.
