Other countries that observe their versions of this annual event, either hold them on an earlier, or later, date as the case may be. The special Mother’s Day set meal. on the other hand, is comprised of a piping hot bowl of miso soup, Hamachi nanben for appetizers, grilled chicken with ponzy sauce as main dish, Japanese rice, and fresh fruits as sweet ending. And as gift/token for their special day, dining mothers will each receive a plate of crene puffs with chocolate toppings.
